This small garden belonging to a mid terrace house in the St Albans conservation area, had a shared access path across the back of the house. The garden had been neglected for years and left to become a mass of weeds and rotten fences. A huge conifer was affecting the neighbours foundations and after receiving council permission was removed.

The resultant design kept the access path and created a useable space in the rear, whilst maintaining privacy and a feeling of seclusion. Space for a small table and chairs and relaxed seating at the back of the garden utilises the space very successfully.  Attractive planting in the raised beds and beside the path provide colour and form throughout the seasons.
