We were honoured to be asked to design and build this historic public garden by the Wheathampstead Parish Council. The village had a rare example of a Victorian Crinkle-Crankle wall which neighboured an unused piece of public land and was the only publicly accessible one in Hertfordshire.
We have designed a garden transforming this into a peaceful, community space for the village, showcasing the impressive historical wall. A public boule court, benches and grassed areas mean that this space can be enjoyed by a wide variety of people and has been a huge success. The planting was undertaken by the Parish Council.
